7 Little Johnstons: Who is Alex Johnston?
A member of the well-known Johnston family, Alex Johnston appears in the TLC reality series 7 Little Johnstons with his parents and siblings.
He made his television debut alongside his parents, Trent and Amber Johnston, in March 2015.
And since his first appearance in the show, he has acquired quite a fan base, many of whom are curious about his life behind the camera.
How was Alex adopted?
Trent and Amber Johnston had been looking forward to welcoming a baby boy into their family since they had already adopted two daughters in their family.
And luckily, a South Korean newborn boy was available for adoption, and the person who called Amber wanted to know whether she knew of a family that would be interested.

It seemed like an ideal time for the Johnstons, so they jumped right in. But, they soon understood it would be a totally different procedure.
As per Amber, they lacked the resources or the time to organize a fundraiser since South Korea demands that the adoption price be paid in full at the start of the procedure.
She added,
“Every day it took us to acquire the funds necessary was one more day our son was not receiving the medical treatment and care he needed.”
Amber called the pastor of their church, who informed her that they would gather the funds in a few months.
“Overcome with emotion, I (Amber) explained we do not have weeks or months!
Recalling the moment, she said,
“Fifteen minutes after returning home from that conversation, our phone rang. It was our pastor informing us that a couple from our church inquired about our adoption that same evening and volunteered to write out a check for the entire amount, $15,150.”
And that’s how Alex got adopted.
Alex had some health issues
According to the show 7 Little Johnstons, Alex underwent tonsil and adenoid removal some years ago to address a respiratory problem.
However, he had some noticeable physical changes in his body. His hand and feet had started to get numb.
Later, a sleep study discovered that he had stopped breathing 56 times throughout the night.

As per his physician Dr David Wrubel, Alex appeared to have both obstructive and central apnea.
Even though removing his tonsils and adenoids improved his obstructive apnea, central apnea remained a severe health problem.
So, Alex ultimately required a brain MRI, confirming the spinal decompression surgery.
Facts about Alex Johnston
Alex manages his very own Etsy shop, Alex Paper Co. He offers a range of origami products for sale, including stickers, lotus flowers, bookmarks, and animal families.
When he’s not busy making origami, Alex enjoys cooking, which is another pastime of his. In fact, Alex’s passion for cooking has been well-documented in the show’s recent seasons.
The 16-year-old teenager is a high school student.
