“I’ve never told this before but something happened with my ear where he slapped me so hard I couldn’t hear.”

The incident became the turning point in her life as she quit the abusive relationship and decided to move on after taking a break to heal from the past relationship.

Although she was on a hiatus for many years, she returned to the music scene with a big bang.

The multiple-time Grammy-nominated songstress said:

“I left music because I was in a really bad relationship. It had gotten abusive. Just having to deal with the industry and that my personal life was so bad, I had to go.”

Jazmine also explained about her sudden break in one of her tweets that said:

“When I wrote that, I was going through some things, so I was kinda just trying to give an excuse without really telling what exactly was going on with my life. That was the thing that I could think of without saying, ‘You know what everybody, I’m going through some real sh*t.'”

Her single ‘Forever Doesn’t Last’ from the 2015 studio album ‘Reality Show’ talks about her break up, which she said was therapeutic for her to come out from the failed relationship.

After the troublesome past relationship, Jazmine has moved on with her new beau, Dave Watson, a professional musician.

This wasn’t something we planned upon. It wasn’t something we were searching for. Which makes it that much more confusing and scary.”

Dave continued:

“One thing I do know is, I’ve never felt like this in my life and I have you and GOD to thank for that. Today is the day you came into this world & I’m so thankful you did! ???HAPPY BIRTHDAY??????? I Love You.”
