Nikki Haley’s husband – who is Michael Haley?
The former governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley launched a 2024 presidential campaign and will face a Republican field of candidates including Doug Burgum, former President Donald Trump, President Joe Biden, and more.
Nikki is no new name to us, but her husband is little known to the world.

Michael ‘Bill’ Haley is a commissioned officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard.

Also, he was the first man to hold the position of ‘first gentleman’ of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017.
Nikki, his wife, writes in her memoir how Michael’s childhood was.
Michael was born in Ohio, along with his four siblings.
As his father was an alcoholic, the state removed Michael and his siblings from their home.
The weekend before his mother regained custody, she had an accident and suffered a brain injury, and they were put in foster care.
Later, Carole and Bill Haley adopted Michael and his younger sister Lee Anne.

Michael and Nikki met for the first time at Clemson University in 1989.
Nikki was a freshman at that time, and Michael was attending nearby Anderson University.
Though Michael had a girlfriend when they first met, they parted ways.
Michael (whom Nikki calls Bill) then started dating her.
In 1996, Michael and Nikki married at St. Andrew By-the-Sea United Methodist Church in Hilton Head.
However, their wedding was postponed because of Hurricane Fran.
As Nikki is from Sikh parents from Punjab, India, they also had a Sikh ceremony.
Later, she converted to Michael’s faith.
Nikki, born Nimarata Nikki Randhawa, wrote in ‘Can’t Is Not an Option: My American Story,’ her 2012 memoir:
“To this day, if my husband, Michael, didn’t cook, my family would never have a home-cooked meal.”
Nikki and Michael have two kids, Nalina and Rena. And Rena exchanged rings in July 2022.
