Kenan Thompson’s weight loss journey – he went from being a soda kid to living a healthy lifestyle.

Kenan Thompson is a name to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry, he never fails to awe the audience with innovative comedy and great talent.

Kenan’s impersonations, as well as his amusing yet insightful skits, have always been the highlight of his tenure as the star of Saturday Night Live.

But this time his weight loss is the topic of discussion.

Kenan’s weight loss is making rounds on the internet, prompting people to wonder how he lost weight, how many pounds he shed, and what his fitness routine and diet plan were like.

How did Kenan Thompson lose weight?

Kenan revealed the reason for his weight loss during an interview on Wendy Williams’ show, saying he lost weight so he could live longer to see his kids grow up.

Kenan, a father of two children, explained that he wanted to remain fit for his children so that he could be with them for a long time, thus incorporating lifestyle changes in his life.

When asked how much weight he dropped on the same show, Kenan said he has no idea because he didn’t set out to lose weight.

Instead, he simply made lifestyle changes such as eliminating sugar and other unhealthy foods from his diet.

He said:

“Growing up I was a major soda kid, so I cut out sugars and started paying attention to closing my rings on the Apple watch.”

After a while, Kenan began to notice changes in his weight.

That’s when he started using an Apple watch to incorporate exercise and increase his daily step count.

The Good Burger star also incorporated a full-body old-school workout along with alterations in his diet.

His diet plan

Kenan’s diet consists primarily of high-protein meals such as eggs, chicken, and fish.

He avoids high-sugar foods and drinks plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

His workout routine

Kenan has been dropping weight steadily over the years and hasn’t hired a professional trainer to help him with his transformation; instead, he’s doing it all on his own.

Thompson’s fitness plan hasn’t been made public yet, but it likely includes both aerobic and weight training.

He did a full-body old-school workout like lunges, dumbbell rows, sit-ups, pushups, burpees, planks, and squats to keep himself fit and healthy.

Cardio

We can all agree that cardio is the first thing that springs to mind for anyone trying to lose weight.

The reason for this is that it works if you do it correctly, and cardio workouts not only help you lose weight, but they also help you improve your body posture and get a better night’s sleep.

If you’re overweight, start with walking for 30 minutes 5 to 6 days a week.

As your joints become stronger, you can progress to additional exercises.

Weight training, also known as resistance training, is beneficial for those who want to lose weight and develop a slim body since it helps you build muscle and strength.

Pull-ups, Bench presses, Dumbbell flyes, Lat pulldowns, Cable rows, Shoulder presses, Lateral raises, and Shrugs

Tuesday

Squats, Jump squats, Weighted squats, Barbell front squats, Leg presses, Lunges, Leg extensions, and Stiff-leg deadlifts

Thursday

Wide grip push-ups, Diamond push-ups, Biceps dumbbell curls, Barbell curls, Hammer curls, Triceps pushdowns, Triceps bench presses, and Triceps dumbbell kickbacks

Friday

Smith machine squats, Hack squats, Crusty lunges, Single leg pushdowns, Hip thrusters, Hip abduction, Calf raises, and Hyperextension
