All Janel Parrish’s tattoos have their meaning, let’s find out all of it!
Janel Meilani Parrish is an accomplished actress and singer from the United States. She rose to prominence for her portrayal of Mona Vanderwaal on the Freeform mystery drama series Pretty Little Liars.
She is also known for her work in Les Miserables, Bratz, and the Netflix hit To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.
For most individuals, injecting dyes into their skin is a significant deal, and they usually have a lot of meaning.
In fact, most people’s tattoos are really personal to them; Janel Parrish, for example, has 24 tattoos on her body, each of which has a unique, special meaning for her.
All her tattoos are explored below with their meanings!
On the inner side of Parrish’s right arm, she has an inspirational message tattooed in cursive form.
In May of 2012, this tattoo was etched with the word “passion.” At the time, she was around 23 years old.
It is one of her favorites, according to Parrish, and it means a lot to her. The tattoo serves as a source of inspiration for her. During a conversation, she stated:
“I have a lot of tattoos that mean a lot to me. One of my favorites is ‘passion’…it’s just words that really inspire me.”
Janel’s right upper shoulder bears a Latin inscription.
Parrish has inked on her right shoulder to the neck that says “Amor vincit omnia” in Latin, which means “love conquers all.” The tattoo signifies real love triumphs over all obstacles.
She explained that the tattoo is devoted to all of her family and friends love and support throughout her life. She said:
“I so much love in my life, which is amazing. From my family, my friends, everything.”
Parrish has a stunning hibiscus flower tattooed behind her right ear; it’s a basic tattoo that doesn’t stray too far from the flower’s natural appearance.
A twisting stem leads to four petals, with the stigma hidden behind her earlobes. The tattoo isn’t as noticeable as her other tattoos, but it’s meaningful to her because it’s a tribute to her home state of Hawaii.
A tattoo depicting a flock of three flying birds is inked near Parrish’s right elbow. Artist Romeo Lacoste inked the tattoo in March 2014.
The tattoo shows three birds flying in different directions. The flock of birds symbolizes peace, fortune, and success.
The moon is arguably the most meaningful of her tattoos because she inked it as a memorial to her late grandmother.
Parrish had this tattoo etched by Dr. Woo, a tattoo artist, in December 2019 in honor of her late grandma.
She posted a photo of the “moon” tattoo on her Instagram account on December 22, 2019, with the caption:
“My grandma’s middle name was Moon. Her nickname, Moony. I miss her, but we are so grateful that we had her on this earth for 90 beautiful years. Thank you @_dr_woo_ for memorializing my beautiful grandma as she now is: shining down on us, forever Moony, always an anchor in my universe.”
Parrish and her husband, Chris, went to Dr. Wooto in October 2018 to get this ‘buck’ tattoo inked on their body in honor of Chris’s father (Parrish’s father-in-law).
Parrish posted a photo of this tattoo on her Instagram account on October 12, 2018, with the caption:
“We lost a great man a month and a half ago…Chris’s dad, my father in law, Buck. He was the COOLEST and most badass man. This week, Chris and I went to see the incomparable @_dr_woo_ to get little Buck’s we can carry with us forever. We love you forever ❤️ #belikebuck”
