Harry Styles, a singer, has been shattering gender norms, one at a time, for years. The 28-year-old British artist has long left the early days of One direction t-shirts and jeans in favor of totally new, bejeweled fingers and dresses – and we’re here for it.
Not only does Harry write hit songs, but he defies toxic masculinity. He’s not the first or last to do it, but his uniqueness is a breath of fresh air and authenticity.
His gestures, whether as small as wearing a pearl necklace or big as a photo shooting for the Vogue cover, have defied gender norms. Think of his activity as his way of giving a middle finger to the toxic masculinity that many people still cling to.
In tribute to his flair for fashion, we revisit some of his best gender-bending looks.

On April 1, 2022, Harry was wearing a shimmery, shiny red outfit on his Instagram. You see, a fashion icon as such, Harry does bend the masculinity/feminity looks.

Styles is not someone who loves cross-dressing, yet his sense of fashion is unique. He was seen wearing half open tee and washed pink pants, which is not entirely gender-bending, yet he had his way of dressing up.

It was the magazine cover seen and debated all over the world. In December 2020, Harry made history as the only solo male to ever grace the cover of Vogue – but his wardrobe was the one to garner the most attention.
This photo set off a series of debates over masculinity, culminating in liberal vs. conservative arguments. Haters can hate, but it doesn’t change the fact that the Vogue issue was a smashing success, and Harry’s cover was a game changer.
In 2020, Harry gave a show-stopping performance ‘Falling,’ from his album Fine Line, at the Brit Awards, and he did it in white lace Gucci bodysuit – matching gloves and a pearl necklace. It also happens when the world realizes that man can wear anything.
That same night, Styles made an entry that no one can forget when he arrived on Brit Awards red carpet wearing black buckled shoes. He wore them with an eggplant sweater, a pearl necklace, and a tailored burgundy suit.
Harry’s red carpet arrival at the 2019 Met Gala was the precise moment for the former One Direction star to the flair of fashion. Dressed in the black ruffled outfit by Alessandro Michele, officially announced himself as a style icon. From top to bottom, sheer ruffled shirt, billowy trousers, to the fistful of rings and pearl drop earrings, it’s simply amazing.

In November 2019, Harry did double duty as a musical guest and host for SNL. But, the promotional ads he did grabbed the most attention, thanks to the pink tutu and leotard he wore to generate buzz. It was tutu (too) good if you ask us.
It’s at the point Harry and pearls go hand-in-hand. It’s rare nowadays to spot a top-chart banger without a string of pearls around his neck. We’re curious: is it the same pearl he wears every other timer he cycles through dozens?

Beauty Papers magazine spread waves online thanks to Harry’s masculinity/feminity play. Wearing little besides loafers and fishnet stockings, everything about Styles in this photo shoot screams gender-defying god.

Harry Styles’ fashion choices are out of this world. While collab with designer Steven Stokey-Daley, we saw him on billowy linen shirts, crocheted boating hats, and floral high-waisted trousers. It felt like such a natural fit.

Prior to the release of the Fine Line album, Styles did an extensive photo with The Guardian. The images featured Styles in nail polish, ruffled shirts, and ankle-length dresses.

The shirtless photo shoot for his album Fine Line in 2019 left everyone’s eye popped out. Harry was seen in a tight pink leotard and white rights with rhinestones on his feet.
