The party is apparently temporarily over for several of My Super Sweet 16’s spoiled starlets.

MTV has announced it is developing Exiled!, a new reality series that will send teens previously featured on My Super Sweet 16 to live with the indigenous tribes of far away countries for the opportunity to add some perspective to their world view, Broadcasting & Cable reported Monday.

Exiled! will follow eight My Super Sweet 16 girls who — at the behest of their parents — were transplanted to primitive tribes around the world to eat, sleep and experience the lifestyle of the teenage girls who live there year round, Broadcasting & Cable reported.

“Our audience in the past few years has really begun to look at how they fit into the world; it’s core to who young people are now,” MTV executive Dave Sirulnick told Broadcasting & Cable. “Some of these girls had very little awareness of what was going on around them and were very self-centered. We thought, ‘Here’s an opportunity.’”

Sirulnick added MTV enlisted the United Nations and other nongovernmental organizations to help determine the indigenous tribes used for the show.

Exiled! is being co-produced by MTV’s News and Docs division with Left/Right TV. The eight-episode series is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2008, according to Broadcasting & Cable.
