The currently-untitled reality series about the 36-year-old actress and single mom will air on E! and is scheduled to debut this summer.

“At the core of this series is a resilient single mom who is trying to get her life back on track,” said E! executive vice president Lisa Berger. “The show will give viewers an inside look at what it’s like for Denise to go through these ups and downs while always in the public eye.”

Ryan Seacrest Productions will produce the series, and Eliot Goldberg — the production company’s senior vice president of production and development — told Daily Variety the American Idol host and Richards have been discussing the project “for quite some time.”

Seacrest and Richards will executive produce the new reality series.
